Officially impressed; “7722 Pte. C. Seward. K.O. Sco. Bord.”
Minor official correction to surname on pair, MIC states the medals were issued as “Steward” and an adjustment was made to the first few letters.

 

Charles Seward, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire & joined the K.O.S.B. at Richmond, Surrey.
He entered into the war on 11th September 1914 and was soon after killed in action on 18th April 1915, commemorated on a panel at the Ypres Memorial, Belgium.
