Description

1914 Star, British War & Victory Medal, Shoeing Smith Albert Dennison, 1st King’s Dragoon Guards, later Machine Gun Corps Cavalry, formed from the Dragoon Machine Gun Sections. 

 

1914 Star officially impressed: “5861 S. Sth A. Dennison. 1/D. Gds.”

Pair officially impressed: “5861 Pte A. Dennison. 1 – D. Gds.”

 

Entitlement confirmed on medal rolls and MIC.

 

1914 Star on original silk ribbon attached to a ribbon bar for wear.

 

Albert Dennison first landed for service in France on 11th November 1914, earning his 1914 Star as Shoeing Smith to the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards.

 

Following the formation of the new unit, the Machine Gun Corps, he transferred over to the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry) on 27th June 1916 with new service number 50916.

 

His WW1 Pair was issued from the roll of the Machine Gun Corps Cavalry, who record him amongst a number of other former 1st KDG men who joined him in the new unit.
