1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medal, Belgian Croix de Guerre, 2579 Pioneer and Sapper Ernest Clark, Royal Engineers.

 

Awarded the Belgium Croix de Guerre, London Gazette 4th September 1919.

 

Cleaned and mounted for display,

 

1915 Star named to rank of Pioneer, Pair as Sapper, noted in the London Gazette as Lance Corporal.
He also served with the new number of 558496 later in the war.

 

Ernest Clark first entered into the war with the Royal Engineers on 8th December 1915, where he is noted as entering into the Egypt theatre of war.

 

He is noted on the Sick and Wounded NCO’s and Men of the Expeditionary Force in the Mediterranean as:

 

2579 Pnr Clark, E, 29th Divisional Signal Company, Royal Engineers, Sick. Dated 18th Jan 1916.

 

He was discharged to the Z Reserve after the war on 18th May 1919.
