A scarce medal for the Abyssinian War.
Naming Officially embossed on reverse: “1241 W. Birtwistle 26th Regt” Some contact marking and general wear.
Confirmed on the medal roll, shown as serving with the regiment still when medal was sent.
Shown on the 1871 Worldwide Army Index as still with the 26th Cameronians stationed in Fyzabad, India.
