Africa General Service Medal, bar East Africa 1913-14, 1914-15 Star, 81 Private Chibaya, A Company, 1st King’s African Rifles, later 2nd Battalion during WW1.

 

A.G.S. Officially impressed: 81 Pte. Chibaya. “A” Coy 1/ K. A. R. Some pitting from wear alongside the star and general wear.
1914-15 Star officially impressed: “81 Pte Chibaya 2/K A R”

 

Private Chibaya is noted on the 1914-15 Star medal roll has having entered into the Theatre of War on 4th August 1914. 4a with the 1st Battalion King’s African Rifles, in British East Africa.

 

He served throughout the war only being discharged by the reduction of the establishment following the war.

 

His Star was posted to him on 19th November 1923, the roll remarks he was at the time: “Police Mbulu Arusha District”
By the time he was issued his British War and Victory medal pair, he had risen to the rank of Sergeant, serving with the 2/2nd K.A.R.
