Description
Africa General Service Medal, GV, bar Somailand 1920, 337 Constable Mohammed Yussuf, Somaliland Camel Corps. An unusual example of a Policeman on attachment.
Officially impressed: “337 Const. Mohammed Yussuf. Som. C.C.”
Confirmed on the medal roll.
The medal roll notes that about 110 men were “Police attached Somaliland Camel Corps” during the 1920 Campaign which put an end to the “Mad Mullah”.
They held Police Ranks such as Constable, rarely seen as most Somaliland Camel Corps medals that survive are to typical Military ranks such as Sepoy.
