The Air Crew Europe Star, ACE, original example unnamed as issued, only awarded to Aircrew who took part in operational flights over Europe.
A scarce medal, only awarded to Air Crews who took part in operational flights over Europe from the outbreak of war in September 1939 until 5th June 1944, the day before the D-Day Normandy Invasion.
RAF Aircrew must have done two months of operational flying to earn the star.
