Ashantee Medal 1873-74, no bar, Edwin Hill, Gunner, Royal Marine Artillery, H.M.S. Barracouta
Edwin Hill born in St Peter, Worcester, Worcestershire circa 1842-4, first made an attempt to join the Royal Marines at Plymouth during 1861, but was rejected.
The next year he tried again, at Ludlow and was accepted for service, joining in 1862.
He was discharged during 1874 just after the Ashantee campaign, from length of service.
