Ashanti Star, 1896, an original officially named example to 2281 Thomas Heath, 2nd Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Very Rare.

 

Engraved on the back in the typical style seen to the regiment: “2281 Pte T. Heath 2. W. Yorks R.”

 

Thomas Heath, born in Matlock, Derbyshire, first attested for service at the age of 17 years 7 months into the West Yorkshire Regiment at York on 2nd August 1888, having been a member of the 3rd Derbyshire Regiment Militia.

 

He saw the following service:
