James Kingham was born in Westing, Bedford during 1839, enlisting on 31st August 1857 aged 18 for the Royal Artillery.
He served for 21 years and 27 days, with his overseas service being during the China War for 1 year and 33 days.
He earned this China War medal and the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with a £5 gratuity.
