Police Constable John Thomas Patterson, was born in Keelby, Lincolnshire circa 1873.
He came from a Norfolk family, His father Thomas Evan Patterson was a Gamekeeper born 1839 in Sparham and his mother Born 1837 in Horsford.

 

In 1891 he was working with his father as an Under Gem Keeper, before moving to London living in Hainford, Norfolk.

 

In 1898 whilst a 25 year old Police Constable in Clerkenwell, he married Edith Eliza Baker

 

In 1901 he lived in Clerkenwell, Holborn, as a City of London Police Constable.
