Crimea Medal, 1854-6, no bar, John Bond, 1st Battalion Scots Fusilier Guards, who died of fever during the war on 14th February 1855.

John Bond, was born in Great Eccleston, Garstang, Lancashire during 1832.
As the war was ongoing, he attested for service at the age of 22 for service with the Scots Fusilier Guards on 17th July 1854. With service number 4793.
He stood at 6 Feet Tall and was a serving member of the Militia.
He proceeded to Crimea, and less than a year later died on 14th February 1855 of Fever, during the bitter winter as they besieged Sebastopol.
