Crimea Medal, British Issue, impressed naming to a Frenchman, Paul Roseban, Corporal, 28th Regiment of the Line.

 

British issue Crimea Medal, Suspension has been soldered to not swivel, named in the impressed style seen on named medals to the French Army.

 

French style impressed naming reads: “PAUL ROSEBAN CAPORAL AU 28 Me DE LIGNE”.

 

Paul Roseban was born in Cambrai, during 1833. Following the war he returned home to France and Married Felicite Desiree Angelique Flament on 5th September 1864 in Armtieres, Nord, France.

 

He was still alive as of the 1906 Census, aged 73, living with his wife and daughter, Marie Roseban, in Houplines, Nord, Nor-Pas-de-Calais, France.
