During World War 1, the D.C.M. was issued to Allied Soldiers without any naming around the rim.
The DCM was issued named about 25,000 times to British and Commonwealth recipients.
These scarce unnamed examples were only awarded about 4957 times to a large spread of recipients from the following countries:
Belgium, Czecho-Slovakia, France, Greece Italy, Japan, Montenegro, Portugal, Roumania, Russia, Serbia and United States of America.
