Whilst this is a particularly modern medal without service records available, we believe he should be Alexander “Alex” Auld McNee 1931-2025.
Born in Manchester, Lancashire during 1931, he married there during 1953 to Phyllis G. Mellor
He is photographed in the Manchester Evening News 9th June 1954, during training.
London Gazette 18th December 1980 listed him as becoming a Serving Brother of the Order of St John, under “Alexander Auld McNee”
It was noted in 1987 that he was Chairman of the local Chorley Centre of St John Ambulance
The Chorley Guardian 30th June 1988 recalls a “Mr Alex Mcnee of the Royal Army Medical Corps Association” waiting on a waiting list to serve on the Chorley and South Ribble Community Health Council.
He died on 6th January 2025 at the grand age of 93 years old.
After his death his family wished for any donations to go to the British Legion.
