A very rare medal to the Gibraltar Territorial Army.

Award announced in the Gibraltar Gazette on 18th February 1988.
Mounted for wear, excellent condition.
A note with the medal recalls that only 69 medals with the “Gibraltar” scroll suspension were awarded.
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment has defended Gibraltar for many years, being formed into its present state after World War 2 in 1958, when it was formed from the Gibraltar Defence Force.
The Force is naturally very small, as of today, it has only about 235 Soldiers, over the years the small size has left few opportunities to award this medal to long serving Soldiers.
