Description
Egypt Medal, 1882, bar Tel-El-Kebir, 17902 Gunner Charles Hooper, 7th Mountain Battery, 1st Brigade Northern Division, Royal Artillery, went on to 3rd Burmese War in Burma 1885-7 died during campaign.
Officially engraved: “17902. Gunr. C. Hooper. 7/1st Bde R.A.” Pitting from wear with Khedive’s Star before his death.
Following the war in Egypt and Sudan, he went with the 7th (Mountain) Battery to take part in the Third Burmese War, being entitled to the India General Service Medal, 1854, bar Burma 1885-7, however the medal roll shows he died during the war.
