General Service Medal, GVI, bar Palestine 1945-48, impressed: “A. W. Blows”

 

Excellent condition in card labelled box of issue with issue letter from the War Office.

 

Albert Walter Blows was a Civilian Volunteer with the NAAFI, Navy Army and Air Force Institutes present in Palestine as shown on medal roll between 6th March 1948 and 17th March 1948. The roll records him as “NAAFI Civilian who wore the official recognised uniform.”

 

The medal was issued on 19th November 1951 to him at 125 Tyers Street, Vauxhall, London, SE 11.

 

Albert Walter Blows was born on 1st January 1923 in Southwark, London. As of the 1939 Register he was living at home with his father Albert and Elizabeth at 125 Tyers Shop Street, Lambeth, Albert was about 16 and already a member of the NAAFI working as a “NAAFI Order Clerk”.

He later died in Derbyshire during May 2004.
