In the lead up to World War 2, the 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers, were deployed to Palestine following the recent outbreak of the “Arab Revolt” in April 1936, the SWB were deployed alongside the Lincolnshire Regiment being sent over from Malta shortly afterwards.
They arrived about 14-18th July 1936 and remained there until 11th December 1936 when they departed for Northern Ireland.
During their deployment they were based in Jaffa and Rehovot.
