Description

India General Service Medal 1854, bar Burma 1887-9, 453 Pte C. Bamfield, 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers, attractive official script engraved naming.

 

With copy service papers.

 

Charles James Bamfield was born during 1862 in St Wollas, Newport, Monmouthshire.

 

He was a 19 year old Labourer when he enlisted for service at Brecon on 20th November 1882 with the South Wales Borderers, having served with the Royal Monmouth Engineers.
