India General Service Medal 1895, 3 bars, Relief of Chitral 1895, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98, 4543 Pte Albert Moss, 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders.

 

A scarce 3 bar medal, as the medal was first issued on it’s own with a Relief of Chitral bar, the bar had no top lugs to add extra clasps, holes have been neatly drilled to attach the extra 2 bars which were issued later.

 

Albert Moss was born during 1870 in Deptford, London. He attested for service on 9th September 1892 with the Gordon Highlanders.

 

He served at home from 6th September 1892 until 26 September 1894.
Followed by 8 years in the East Indies from 27th September 1894 until 16th December 1902.
Finishing up his service at home from 17th February 1902 until 5th September 1902, he was discharged having completed his 12 years term of service.

 

He did not fight in the Boer War, this medal being his sole entitlement.
