India General Service Medal 1895, bar Punjab Frontier 1897-98, 3794 Private William Henry Chamberlain, 11th Hussars.

 

Suspension loose, officially engraved naming.

 

William Henry Chamberlain was born during 1870 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, a Saddler by Trade.

 

Attested for service on 5th March 1894, with the 11th Prince Albert’s Own Hussars. Six month later he was sent to India where he spent 5 years including the Punjab Frontier campaign of 1897-98 earning this medal as his sole entitlement.

 

Served in India from 13th September 1894 until 30th October 1899, followed by service in Egypt from 31st October 1899 until 26th October 1902.

 

Returned home to join the Army Reserve to finish off his 12 years term of engagement from 23rd December 1902 until 4th March 1906 when he was finally fully discharged from service.
