India General Service Medal, 1854, 2 bars, Hazara 1891, Samana 1891, 4953 Pte Henry Bishop, 1st Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps.

 

Henry Bishop was born in Battersea, London, during 1871.

 

He attested for service having been a Moulder, at the age of 18 on 26th January 1889.

 

Posted to India on 25th november 1890, where he would serve for 6 years.

 

His service papers state he fought in the “Hazara 1891, Miranzai 1891 and Isazai Expeidtion 1892”

 

His sole entitlement is this medal with the bars for Hazara and Samana, as stated on his service papers.

 

Following his service in India he spent the remainder of his service at home from 14th January until 21st January 1902, until he finished his 12 years term of service to be discharged.
