Only 2 A. Forbes went on to serve with the Seaforth Highlanders in WW1, both were killed in action, for further research:
10667 Lance Sergeant Alexander Forbes, 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, from Edinburgh, killed by a sniper on 24th October 1914.
The other was 8720 Sergeant Alexander Forbes, 7th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders who was killed in action in France on 12th October 1916.
