Ghulam Kadir was born during October 1888. He graduated from Veterinary College on 11th April 1908 and then joined the Mule Corps.
War Services of the Indian Army 1941 lists him as Risaldar who saw service in France since August 1914, then in Egypt, where he was awarded this Indian Army Meritorious Service Medal, then in Iraq, until 11th August 1919.
He had transferred to the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 4th September 1918, in 1935 being posted to No 3 Section Indian Veterinary Hospital, Rawalpindi.
As a Jemadar he served in the North West Frontier operations of 1936-37 with the Mobile Veterinary Section, RAZCOL, and was mentioned in despatches for this in the London Gazette of 18th Ferbruary 1938.
Promoted to Risaldar on 1st September 1938 and then served during WW2 at the Military Veterinary Hospital in Risalpur and the Mobile Veterinary Hospital at Thal.
For his service he was additionally awarded the Order of British India 2nd Class during 1941, being advanced to the 1st Class in 1942. He retired as the war ended in 1945.
