During the Indian Mutiny the 75th (Stirlingshire) Regiment of Foot are notable for having been part of the first storming column and leading a bayonet charge at the Siege of Delhi during June 1857. During the action at Delhi the 75th Regt would earn 3 Victoria Crosses and a Distinguished Conduct Medal.
