A rarely seen medal, only about 4000 were awarded over its lifetime, it was instituted in mid 2004, and could be claimed up until 2013 for having completed 40 days service in Iraq, as either a Publiic Servant, Contractor and Consultant, a member of the Armed Forces working with the British Government Departments, under the employment of Her Majesty’s Government.
