Police Constable John Thomas Patterson, was born in Keelby, Lincolnshire circa 1873.
He came from a Norfolk family, His father Thomas Evan Patterson was a Gamekeeper born 1839 in Sparham and his mother Born 1837 in Horsford.
In 1891 he was working with his father as an Under Game Keeper, before moving to London living in Hainford, Norfolk.
On 19th October 1893 he joined the City of London Police.
In 1898 whilst a 25 year old Police Constable in Clerkenwell, he married Edith Eliza Baker.
In 1901 he lived in Clerkenwell, Holborn, as a City of London Police Constable.
On 30th October 1919 he was “Permitted to Retire” from the City of London Police, with collar number 229 from Division B.
