The Mayor of Kimberley’s Siege Medal, aka Kimberley Star, “a” Hallmark, produced by AHD, with top pin brooch and old ribbon.
Produced in Birmingham, with “Anchor” City Mark, by maker Alfred Horatio Darby, marked with his makers mark “AHD”, during 1900, with “a” date hallmark.
The reverse reads “Mayor’s Siege Medal 1900”, this privately made medal was produced during the 1900-1902 to be sent out to the Defenders of the Town of Kimberley who had taken part in the Siege of Kimberley from 14th October 1899 – 15th February 1900.
