Description

King’s Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom, GVI

The medal was awarded about 3200 times, only to Foreign Nationals for acts of courage in furtherance of the interests of the British and Allied cause during WW2. They are all issued unnamed due to the sensitive nature of some of the recipients.
Many were members of the resistance groups in German occupied Europe, who would help British Servicemen evade the enemy or assist them in escaping from occupied areas, also supplying intelligence to British Intelligence.
