As an Acting Leading Air Mechanic (Ordnance), serving with the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm Branch, he would have been directly responsible for the handling of the Weaponry being used on the Aircraft which were being deployed from the Navy’s Aircraft Carriers, such as machine guns, bombs, cannons etc.
