Member of the Order of the British Empire, 1st Type Military and hallmarked, 1914 Star, with original bar, British War and Victory Medal, Defence and War Medal 1939-45, 1935 Jubilee, 1937 Coronation, Army Long Service and Good Conduct, GV, Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V., France Medaille D’Honneur 1st class with swords in silver gilt, Lt Colonel F.W. Price, A.S.C. and Department of the Quarter-Master-General to the Forces.

 

Frederick Walter Price attested for service with the Army Service Corps at York, he landed in France on 10th August 1914 at the beginning of the war. His service in WW1 led to a Mention in Despatches, Award of the M.S.M. and the French Medal of Honour.

 

He was commissioned as a Lieutenant (Quartermaster) in the Royal Army Service Corps on 14th January 1931.
Promoted numerous times throughout his long service and during WW2 was on the staff of the Department of the Quarter-Master General to the Forces as an Assistant Director as of 28th August 1942, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

 

Promoted from Captain to be Brevet Major, London Gazette 4th July 1939.

 

He served until they retired him due to his age, announced in the London Gazette 23rd May 1947:
Lt Colonel (Quartermaster) F.W. Price, M.B.E. (49640) having exceeded the age limit for retirement, to be placed on retired pay, 12th March 1947, and to be granted the Honorary Rank of Colonel.

 

M.B.E. awarded in the London Gazette, 3rd July 1926 in the Birthday Honours List.
M.S.M. awarded in the London Gazette 11th November 1916.

France Medaille D’Honneur pour Affaires Etrangere Avec Glaives, 1st Class Silver Gilt awarded in the London Gazette 29th January 1919, as Temporary Staff Sergeant Major, Quarter-Master General’s Branch.
