Description

Military General Service Medal, M.G.S., 2 bars, Fuentes D’Onor, Vittoria, John Young, 88th Regiment of Foot, the Connaught Rangers, a Dublin Man, who was discharged from his gun shot wound at Vittoria.

 

John Young, was born in the Parish of St James in Dublin, he attested for service with the 88th Foot on 1st May 1809 and joined the 1st Battalion.

 

He was discharged from service as no longer fit due to his wounds on 14th September 1815, it was recorded that he had received “a gun shot wound to right leg at Vittoria”.
