Description
Nassau Waterloo medal silver, nicely dark toned.
The Nassau Waterloo Medal was established on December 23, 1815, by Duke Frederick Augustus to honor all troops from the Duchy of Nassau who served in the Battle of Waterloo.
Designed by Johann Lindenschmit
Nassau troops were critical to the Allied victory at Waterloo, fighting alongside British and Prussian forces. The medal was distributed directly by the Duke to eligible soldiers, regardless of whether they were directly on the battlefield or served in supporting uniformed positions.
