Naval General Service Medal, GV, bar Persian Gulf 1909-1914, J22724 A.Z. Roberts, Boy 1st Cl. HMS Swiftsure.

 

Arthur Zoarubable Roberts was born on 6th March 1897 in West Smithfield, London, he had been working as a Vanguard when he joined the Royal Navy as a Boy on 30th January 1913 on HMS Impregnable.
He served on HMS Swiftsure earning this medal in the Persian Gulf, from 7th March 1914 until 10th March 1916.
He was then on HMS Pembroke I from 11th March 1916 until 4th January 1917.

 

When he joined HMS Dido (Mastiff) from 5th January 1917 to 7th March 1917, followed by HMS Attentive II from 8th March 1917 to 31st March 1917, them HMS Pembroke I from 1st April 1917 to 8th June 1917.
HMS Woolwich (Valentine) from 9th June 1917 to 21st September 1917.
His last service was at HMS Pembroke from 22nd September 1917 until 28th November 1917 when he was invalided out of the Royal Navy aged only 20
