With copy service papers, medal in superb condition with attractive toning.

Charles Henry Scudamore was born on 29th July 1878 in Birmingham, Warwick.
He began his service with the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 31st January 1895 on HMS Impregnable.
He advanced to Boy 1st Class on 7th November 1895 before becoming of age and being made Able Seaman on HMS Thunderer, 29th July 1896.
Continuing his service, he was promoted to Leading Seaman on 6th May 1903, whilst on board HMS Hawke.
He spent 1 year as Leading Seaman of HMS Carnarvon from 1st May 1907 until 15th May 1908, during which time he earned this medal.
After his long service he was discharged to the Royal Fleet Reserve at Devonport on 2nd August 1908.
He returned for further service with the outbreak of WW1, joining HMS Albion on 2nd August 1914 until 18th May 1916 as Leading Seaman.
