New Zealand Medal, 1864-1866 reverse, 516 Samuel Bradshaw, 68th Light Infantry. Officially impressed naming.

Samuel Bradshaw was born during 1839 in Marsden, Burnley, Lancashire. He volunteered for the 5th Royal Lancashire Militia on 12th February 1858, being discharged to join the 68th Light Infantry at the age of 19 on 23rd April 1858.

He served overseas for 6 Months in New Zealand during the war, with 6 years and 11 months in the East Indies.

His conduct was described as “Good, is in possessing of one good conduct badge will be entitled to two good conduct badges on the 3rd June 1879, he is in possession of the New Zealand War Medal, not in possession of an educational certificate.

He served for 21 years & 34 days when he was discharged on 10th June 1879
