Rare to find to an Observer Officer, only about 489 are recorded to have been issued to this senior rank.

 

Award of the medal announced in the Kentish Express, 7th August 1959:

 

“AWARDED OBSERVER CORPS MEDALS

 

The following members of Group No 1, HQ Beckenham, Royal Observer Corps have been awarded the R.O.C. Medal for 12 or more years service – Observer Officer P.C. Holcombe, Operations Room in Beckenham….”
