Punniar Star officially engraved on reverse in running script: “Gunner Michael Daley 1st Troop 3rd Brigade Horse Artillery”
Sutlej officially impressed: “Gunner M: Daley 4th Batn Arty”
Particularly good preserved condition. The Maharajpoor Star in original issued configuration, with screwed on reverse clip, suspended by a split ring for the ribbon.
Michael saw service in 4 significant Battles all displayed on his medal entitlement from the Gwalior Campaign of 1843 through to the Anglo-Sikh aka Sutlej War of 1845-6.
The 1st Troop 3rd Brigade Bengal Horse Artillery, later became the F Battery 2nd Horse Brigade (F/2) when absorbed into the 2nd Horse Brigade of the Royal Artillery in 1862.
He then served in the Anglo Sikh War of 1845-6 with the 4th Battalion of Bengal Artillery.

Serving as part of the 1st Troop, 3rd Brigade of Bengal Horse Artillery, part of the Honourable East India Company’s Army, the battle was fought at the same time as the Battle of Maharajpoor just 20 miles away.
