Description

Queen’s South Africa, 5 bars, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, Trooper C. Wood, 50th Company 17th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry, the Hampshire contingent.

 

Trooper Charles Wood was born in Perry Barr, Birmingham during 1873, he enlisted for service having been a 28 year old Electrician on 2nd March 1901.

 

He served overseas in South Africa during the Boer War from 23rd March 1901 until 29th July 1902.

 

He was discharged after the war on 5th August 1902.
