Queen’s South Africa, 3 bars, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, 21053 Trooper Alexander Binnie Prestsell, 6th Imperial Yeomanry. 

 

Served with the 17th (Ayshire and Lanarkshire) Company, 6th Battalion of Imperial Yeomanry, a unit co-sponsored by the Ayshire Yeomanry Cavalry and Lanarkshire Yeomanry Cavalry.

 

Officially impressed: “21053 Tpr: A.B. Pretsell. 6th Imp: Yeo:”

 

Naming all readable, but some abrasions to the rim as shown.

 

Also issued later the loose set of SA 1901 and SA 1902 clasps after the issue of this medal.

 

Alexander Binnie Pretsell, was born in Peebles, Peeblesshire, Scotland circa 1878 in the parish of Stobo.

 

Attested for service with the Imperial Yeomanry on 24th January 1901, having been a Farmer.

 

Served in South Africa with the 17th Company, 6th Battalion (Scots) Imp Yeo from 22nd Feb 1901 until 4th August 1902.
