Queen’s South Africa Medal, 3 bars, Defence of Kimberley, Orange Free State, Transvaal, Kimberley Star, ‘a’ hallmark, with brooch bar, Private Alfred Edward Giani, Cape Police.

 

Alfred Edward Giani was born in Cape Colony, South Africa, during 1877. He was the son of Augustus Lorenzo Giani and Mary Moffat Giannia.

 

He married Abramina Johanna Giani and had 7 children.

 

In later life he worked as a Railway Officlal with South African Railways.

 

Transvaal Civil Deaths Entry: “Alfred Giani passed away on 29th July 1941 at the General Hospital in Pretoria. He was 64 years and 3 months old, a railway official with South African Railways, who lived at 148, 3rd Avenue, Hospital Park, Pretoria.
