Queen’s South Africa Medal, 3 bars, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Belfast, King’s South Africa Medal, 2 bars, 115 Drummer Harry Cleaveley, Coldstream Guards.

 

Both medals named to the rank of Drummer. Some contact marking, mostly to KSA from wearing the pair.

 

Harry Cleaveley was born in Chelsea, London during 1880. At the young age of 15, he attested for service with the Coldstream Guards on 12th June 1895 in London.

 

He was a career Drummer, having first been an underage Private, he was first promoted to Drummer on 1st November 1897, which he would serve as throughout his time in the Boer War, until his discharge on 11th June 1907 having completed his 12 years term of engagement.

 

He served overseas in South Africa from 23rd May 1900 until 4th October 1902 all with the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, the remainder at home.
