A scarce bar entitlement for the Battle of Talana and Defence of Ladysmith.
Cape Colony bar mounted loose on ribbon. QSA named as a Private and KSA as a Corporal.
2 Edge knocks about 6 o’clock to KSA. Medals sometime cleaned.
Harry Harrison Hopper, a 24 year old Clerk born in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, attested for service with the King’s Royal Rifle Corps on 23rd June 1898.
He served overseas for the Boer War in South Africa from 13th May 1899 until 15th July 1902.
Following the war he joined the Army Reserve on 16th July 1902 once he returned home.
He was fully discharged on 28th April 1904 at his own request for a payment of £25.
