QSA officially impressed: “17241 Sgt A.E. Redfearn. 64th Bty: R.F.A.”

KSA officially impressed: “17241 Serjt: A.E. Redfearn. Pom Poms Sect: R.A.”

1914 Star officially impressed: “17241 Bty Q.M. Sjt A.E. Redfearn”

Born on 24th November 1878, in Leeds, Yorkshire.

 

First attested for service with the R.A. on 24th November 1896, the exact day of his 18th Birthday.

He was already a serving member of the Yorkshire Artillery Militia, known as the Western Division R.A.

“He is a smart, clean, respectable lad just turned 18 years of age, and will I believe make a good soldier. he is desirous of joining the Field Artillery.”
