Description
King’s South Africa Medal, bar South Africa 1902, 5549 Pte. D. Packham, Grenadier Guards, a rare and most unusual confirmed single bar issue of the King’s South Africa Medal due to his wound received in action at the battle of Belmont resulting in being invalided home and not returning until 1902.
David Packham was born during 1875 in Hellingly, Hailsham, Sussex.
He attested for service with the Grenadier Guards on 11th November 1895 standing at a commanding 6 Foot 1 Inches tall at the age of 20.
