Now known as the H.M. Coastguard Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, it has had a number of ames since it was instituted in 1911 as the Board of Trade Rocket Apparatus Long Service Medal.
Until 1954 it was awarded under the name of this medal, as the “Rocket Life Saving Apparatus”.
The design of this medal indicates an earlier award around 1930s-1940s, the design of the medal was changed around the time of WW2.
