Decoration for Officers of the Royal Naval Reserve, EIIR, dated 1966, with Long Service Clasp.
Reverse officially dated “1966”.
With a scarce Long Service Clasp.
Known as the RD or Reserve Decoration, the recipient must have been an Officer with at least 15 years of service in the Royal Naval Reserve.
The clasp is not often seen as in order to earn it you must do an additional 15 years following the award of the medal, requiring a total service of about 30 years, also as WW2 had long since passed by this time there was little opportunity for “Double Service” time to be accrued.
