Description

The Karl Johansmedaljen is a Swedish medal that was instituted in 1854 by Oscar I in memory of his father Karl XIV Johan.

 

It was awarded to all officers and dignitaries who participated in the campaigns in Germany and Norway 1812-1813 under Karl Johan's command.

 

Also awarded to the deputies from the Swedish and Norwegian armies who attended the solemn unveiling of Karl XIV Johan's statue on the 40th anniversary of the Swedish-Norwegian union on November 4, 1854. 30mm
