Description

Tibet Medal, bar Gyantse, British War and Victory Medal, Army LS and GC, EDVII, 1044 Warrant Officer 2nd Class John W. Pittman, Royal Fusiliers.

These medals are all contained in a contemporary glazed old leather display case with retractable shelf stand, from the period, with custom fitted slots for the 4 medals.

The Tibet Medal is fitted with a very well made contemporary copy bar, it is attractively re-engraved in script in a similar style to the original naming: “4351 Pte J. W. Pittman. Ryl: Fus:”
WW1 Pair officially impressed: “1044 W.O. Cl. 2. J. W. Pittman. R. Fus.”
Army LSGC officially impressed: “4351 Pte J.W. Pittman R. Fus.”

John Pittman is on the medal roll for the Tibet medal with bar for Gyantse, however it was his 1st earned medal, and appears to have gone missing or been sold at some point, someone went to great expense in the period to put this display together.
